Ton Voortman (1948) is geboren in Rotterdam waar hij afstudeerde aan de Academie voor BeeldendeKunsten. Aansluitend loopt hij stage bij de beeldhouwers Gust Romijn en Huib Noorlander.

Na een loopbaan als zelfstandig grafisch vormgeveren illustrator richtte hij zich in 2005 weer volledig op het beeldhouwen. Hij werkt afwisselend in zijn ateliers in Nederland en Frankrijk.

Zijn werk is het resultaat van een voortdurend zoeken, waarbij de vrouw en haar kleding en de symbiose daarvan een cruciale plaats innemen. Zijn stijl kan worden omschreven als abstract realisme of romantisch surrealisme, met soms een vleugje humor.

Ton Voortman exposeert regelmatig bij Musea en galeries, zijn beelden zijn in diverse zakelijke en particuliere collecties opgenomen, zowel nationaal als internationaal.

Ton Voortman (1948) est né à Rotterdam, où il est diplômé de l’Académie des Beaux-arts. Il a ensuite effectué un stage auprès des sculpteurs Gust Romijn et Huib Noorlander.

Après une carrière en tant que graphiste et illustrateur indépendant, il se consacre à nouveau à la sculpture en 2005. Il travaille alternativement dans ses ateliersaux Pays-Bas et en France.

Son travail est le résultat d’une recherche constante dans laquelle la femme, ses vêtements et cette symbiose occupent une place cruciale. Son style peut être décrit comme un réalisme abstrait ou un surréalisme romantique, parfois avec une pointe d’humour.

Ton Voortman expose régulièrement dans des musées et des galeries, ses sculptures font partie de diverses collections commerciales et privées, aux niveaux national et international.
